Every year XLRI conducts Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for admissions into various management course offered by more than 150 institutions across the country. XLRI Jamshedpur conducted XAT 2020 examination on the 5th January 2020. The exam conducting authority has released XAT result on 16 January 2020, much earlier than the scheduled date of 31 January.

Students can visit the official website of the examination for downloading the scorecard. The scorecard will contain information about the overall percentile score along with the percentile score for each section. Candidates can check their rating and calculate their chances of making through the cut-offs declared by various participating institutes.

Students can download the scorecard until 31 March 2020. There is also provision for hard copy delivery of the scorecard, provided students pay a fee of 300 via demand draft issued in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur, payable at Jamshedpur.

How to Check XAT 2020 Result?

XAT scorecard consists of the percentage and percentile for each section along with the overall percentile and percentage. Students must follow the below-mentioned steps for checking XAT Result.

● Visit the official website of XAT 2020 available at xatonline.in.
● Next step is to log in using the username and password.
● After logging in, candidates are required to click on the link stating “Scorecard”.
● After clicking on “Scorecard”, the scorecard of the candidate will be displayed on the screen.
● Student can click on the “Download Scorecard” and print it for reference.

The scores of the general knowledge section are not taken into account while calculating the total percentage and percentile. Instead, the percentage of the general knowledge section is calculated separately and considered in the GD-PI-WAT rounds.

Key Information of XAT Result 2020

● The total percentile is calculated based on three core subjects- Quantitative Ability, Decision Making and Verbal and Logical Aptitude.
● The percentage of marks obtained in the GK section is not considered in the total percentage and is only taken into account during the GD-PI-WAT rounds.
● No candidate of XAT 2020 is awarded negative percentile.
● Post declaration of the result, the organising institute (XLRI Jamshedpur) will shortlist the students for admissions.
● No student is awarded 100 percentile; the topper is also awarded a maximum of 99.9 percentile.

XAT Cut off and Admission Process

Since there is no common admission process followed, candidates are required to apply individually to the institutes of their choice from among the participating institutes. After the declaration of result, the cut-offs will be declared by each of the participating institutes, including XLRI Jamshedpur.

Based on their performance, students will be shortlisted for the subsequent rounds of selection which includes group discussions, personal interview and rounds testing the writing ability of the candidates. XLRI shortlists the candidates based on the overall XAT exam percentile as well as the sectional percentile obtained by the candidates. The candidates shortlisted by XLRI are intimated individually through SMS, and also their names are published on the website.
