We all knew and heard of the versatility of essential oils. But I bet you did not know how you can make all these necessities, RIGHT at home, using a few simple ingredients, add essential oils, which we need and use every single day.
Here are a few DIY recipes for home and hygiene essentials:
1. Skin Balm for Pain Relief
6 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
5 drops of Tea Tree Oil
5 drops of Bergamot Oil
5 drops of Lemon Oil
3 ounces of Coconut Oil
The procedure is fairly easy to do. First, add in the raw coconut oil in a mixing bowl. Then start dropping the essential oils in droplets as you blend the mixture. Once all the contents have been added, you stir-blend it until the mixture forms a consistent texture.
The added value of the antibacterial agents in some of these essential oils will really help, and the added soothing effect of the peppermint and lemon oil will surely help you achieve total tranquility.
2. Homemade Perfume
2½ tablespoons carrier oil
6 tablespoons of 100 proof vodka(190-proof would be best)
2½ tablespoons distilled water
9 drops of top notes
15 drops of middle notes
6 drops of base note
**Follow the instructions accurately
Pick the bottle you will be composing the perfume in, and add the carrier oil, followed by the base, then the middle and finally the top notes.
Now for the second step, add the alcohol. Now for the lengthy part- let the mixture sit for at least 2 days, or you can go up to 1.5 months. It’s kind of like aged wine, just won’t take you THAT long.
Whenever in the timeframe you find the desired scent, add in the water and start shaking the bottle vigorously for about 1 whole minute. You can happily squirt away, as you leave home smelling fresh and great.
3. Face Scrub
1 cup brown sugar
3 drops of lavender essential oil
¼ cup turmeric
1 ounce of cocoa butter
2 ounces of coconut oil
2 ounces grapeseed oil
2 tablespoon activated charcoal(powdered
Vanilla Bean seeds
Preheat the oven to 275 F. Put the cocoa butter and coconut oil in an oven-proof bowl. Let it heat in the oven for a small couple of minutes, until the mixture is molten.
Add ice to an empty bowl and drain the liquid oil mixture into it. Start stirring the batter as you slowly add in the grapeseed oil. Leave it for the oils to get less warm.
N.B- Make sure the oil mixture doesn’t get cooled entirely, or you won’t be able to add in the rest of the ingredients.
Now start stirring the oil mixture as you add small amounts of sugar at a time. Follow up with the activated charcoal and keep on stirring until the mixture cools down.
There you have it, your very own activated charcoal face wash, made at home.
