Stand up paddleboarding

Stand-up paddleboarding, commonly known as SUPing, is a great water sport born from surfing and canoeing with contemporary Hawaii roots. This sport requires you to stand on a board floating on water and use a paddle to propel yourself through the water body.

This activity offers a fun and fantastic way to play on the water with an additional benefit of an excellent full-body workout. While SUPing, you’ll find yourself utilizing some muscles you didn’t even know existed. Stand up paddleboarding also allows you to practice your yoga stances on the board while floating on the water (typical known as SUP yoga).

On the other hand, standing on the board at your full height will give you an excellent stance point of viewing out on the horizon and what’s down under the water.

Surfing

Surfing is another fantastic water sport to try on your next beach adventure. This activity requires you to use a surfing board to ride on the face or forward section of a moving wave. This involves you catching the ocean wave and gliding across the water surface until the wave loses its energy or break.

There are several forms of surfing, but the common ones are stand-up surfing and bodyboarding. The stand-up type requires you to ride the wave while standing on a surfboard while on bodyboarding, you can either lie on your belly, drop your knee, or even stand up on the board.  Some of the surfing benefits include:

  1. Burn calories in an exciting way
  2. Boost your immune system
  3. Improve the health of your heart
  4. Strengthen and improve your muscle tone
  5. Improve your flexibility and balance, etc.

Kiteboarding

Kiteboarding, sometimes called kitesurfing, is one of the exciting and fastest-growing beach activities in the last decade. This extreme water sport allows you to harness the wind’s power with a huge but controllable power kite to be pulled across the surface of water or on beach sand.

Using the power of wind, you’ll be propelled across at incredible speeds while holding on kite strands and standing up a maneuverable board. Kiteboarding activity generally combines the aspects of surfing, sailing, skateboarding, windsurfing, wakeboarding, paragliding, and snowboarding.

Kayaking

Kayaking is another fantastic water sport involving moving through the water in a kayak while propelling it using a double-bladed paddle. A kayak is simply a canoe-like but low-to-water vessel in which you’re supposed to sit facing forward and your legs in front, leaving your upper body free and exposed. When Kayaking, you’ll require essential equipment such as:

  1. A kayak
  2. Double-bladed paddle
  3. A life jacket
  4. A helmet
  5. Safety goggles
  6. Water-resistant shoes, shirt, and pants
  7. A waterproof bag

This beach activity is a great way to get a full-body workout while also enjoying an exciting moment. Laying can also be paired with other activities such as fishing and camping to give you an added layer of immersion on your beach adventure.

Beach ball games

Whether you’re the active type or prefer sitting around, trying beach soccer or volleyball can make your day fly by. Soccer and volleyball are just some good examples, but the game options are endless. Much like regular games, beach soccer and volleyball are more exciting because it doesn’t hurt when tackled on the beach sand as it could on solid ground.

The immeasurable difficulty of playing these ball games on the sand makes it more fun than traditional fields. Another best part of beach ball games is that you don’t actually need to have a team; a lot of other beach adventurers would be happy to join you as long as you’ve got a ball.

Banana boat riding

A banana boat is simply a powerless inflatable yellow tube with two smaller tubes attached on both sides for balance. This inflatable tube is usually hauled by a speedboat and can accommodate up to 10 riders.

The banana boat riding is a great activity you can enjoy with your family, friends, or even other beachgoers. The exciting part with banana boat riding is that you can still participate even if you don’t know how to swim. All you need is a life jacket for your safety.

Bottom line

Any of these beach activities are a perfect way to spice up your time at the beach. So choose one or several of the above activities for your next beach adventure based on your enthusiasm, and have fun!
