Of course, there are tons of ways to make money with a pickup truck, though some are more restricted than others. Hotshot trucking is a great example since you need both a trailer and a commercial driver’s licence or CDL.
Another is to attach a snow plow to the front of your truck and charge people to plow snow off of their driveways or even roads. You could also offer mowing services, though you obviously won’t get very much work in winter, so maybe alternating between the two is the best way to go.

If you like going to sporting events or concerts, then you have to try tailgating. No, this doesn’t mean you should drive too close to other vehicles on the road. In this case, it means to cook and serve food and drinks in the parking lot, usually of a stadium.
In some places, tailgating is a huge thing where people compete with each other for the most impressive decorations, the most delicious food and even the most delightful drinks. You’ll meet tons of people this way, from fans of your favorite band to those who hold different sports team opinions.
While it can be as simple as opening up the bed of the truck to turn it into a snacking area, you will fire up the grill, or you could set up canopies and chairs and spend a long time enjoying the massive tailgate party.

Go Camping
While some people are more than happy to spend a vacation in a far-off tropical location or relaxing at home, plenty enjoy immersing themselves in the outdoors by going camping. While this could be done with a tent or even a full-on camper, why not camp in your pickup truck?
Get a truck bed topper, stock it with plenty of supplies,and drive to your favorite camping or even hunting or fishing spot and make the truck your base camp.
Campers can set up chairs, grills and coolers to enjoy their calming retreat before taking hikes or riding trails. Hunters can keep their equipment dry and safe while still having their own personal mobile shelter waiting for you when you get back.
Fishermen can have their various rods and tackle boxes on standby and even have a place ready to store or even fry up any of their catches.
Host Movie Night
It may seem strange at first, but hosting a movie night from your pickup truck can be a very fun and cozy idea. If you’re just hosting it for your family, you could hang out in the bed of the truck with sleeping bags and blankets and watch a movie from a decently sized laptop or tablet.
The best part about this kind of movie night is that it can easily be done almost anywhere, from just hanging out in your driveway or backyard to on a road trip stop or even while camping. Of course, this isn’t the only way to do it.
If you’re hosting a few friends, have a large family or just want a bigger screen and more legroom, then you can instead set up your own personal drive-in theater in the bed of your truck. The best part is that you’ll get to build the screen yourself however you want. You could follow a tutorial from someone who’s already made one or freehand it, whichever you prefer.
Once it’s done, all you’ll need is a projector, speaker system and maybe some white object like a sheet or inflatable device to act as the screen. And, of course, it can be just as portable as the more cozy movie night if you build it right.
Take a Road Trip
When you don’t mind a bit of driving, there’s nothing wrong with just packing up and taking a road trip. Just taking some time to get away from your normal life and enjoy what the open road can give you is an incredibly popular pastime for many, and with how versatile it is, it’s easy to see why.
If you need time to clear your head then you can fill the bed with a tent, some clothes, food, tools and more and just go driving for a weekend, or you could bring a friend and travel across the country just to see some cool stuff and camp at some unique places.
Before you begin your trip, though, you do have to do at least some prep work. The main thing is to make sure your truck can handle the drive. Run through a maintenance checklist and make sure your truck passes each part before you even start planning, since unknown damage could take a while to repair.
You should also make sure that you have plenty of tools and at least one extra tire on hand so that you’re prepared for if the truck gets a flat tire or needs some emergency maintenance on the road. Once this is all done, though, you can hit the road, blaring your travel playlist from the radio.
